The subjectivity of fashion and art, as well as their intersection with design, is the purpose of this site. Yes according to Kant, purposelessness is the distinguishing factor of art. In Marx’s more adaptable terms, the lower the use value and higher the mystical or aesthetic value, the *more* something becomes art like. This means the more decorative fashion becomes, the more it is an object of adornment, then the more it resembles art.
