While it could be argued that global media like Vogue are simply standardizing style, national magazines can also be seen as windows onto cultural difference. I love the subtle variety from Vogue to Vogue...whatever it is that we cannot define with words about Russian identity, we can see in Vogue Russia editorials...

Whatever it is that does not to "look Russian," that is whatever is "the Vogue woman," is the emerging global style. This is dominated by Western values but influenced but the post-modern collide with difference and subcultural forms. It is an aesthetic of Western power, with the grace of acceptance.
